+ How To Create a Facebook Fundraiser

1. Click Fundraisers in the left menu of your News Feed.
2. Click Raise Money.
3. Type in “Sunsar Maya” to select us as your charity of choice.
4. Select the amount you would like to raise and how long you would like your fundraiser to last. Note: You can raise beyond the goal. A goal just helps your friends when determining how much to give.
5. Under “Why are you raising money?” enter some text about why you are supporting Sunsar Maya. To help, we have included some suggested text in the next section.
6. Choose a cover photo. We suggest using the cover photo from the Sunsar Maya Facebook page.
7. Publish! Your fundraiser is now live. You can choose to invite friends and share it throughout the duration of the giving period to encourage your friends to donate.

+ How To Create an Instagram Fundraiser

1. Create a New Post with one of the social media images below by clicking the (+) button
2. Before sharing the post, click "Add Fundraiser"
3. Type in "Sunsar Maya" to select us as your charity of choice.
4. Select the amount you would like to raise and how long you would like your fundraiser to last. Note: You can raise beyong the goal. A goal just helps your friends when determining how much to give.
5. Add your caption with "Why You Are Raising Money" language below.
6. Press Share! Your Instagram fundraiser is now live. You can now invite friends to share and donate.

Sunsar Maya provides educational opportunities to create pathways out of poverty for women and children in Nepal. Last year, through it’s three programs, Sunsar Maya provided over 1,000 hours of education, partnered to administer almost 400 medical examinations and watched two women use their literacy training to open new businesses. These students are setting themselves and their families up for brighter futures and creating a stronger Nepal."

+ Tips for Your Fundraiser

• Schedule your fundraiser so that it has a good lead up time (a week before your birthday is good) and ends roughly four days after your actual birthday. This gives you time to get early birds, have your birthday, and pick up any late gifters.
• Encourage your friends to share your fundraiser if they can’t donate. This will help spread the word and give those who can’t give financially another option to support you.
• Sharing the fundraiser as a status update a few times during the giving period helps to remind friends to give. You can share updates, thank donors and remind people that there is still time to give anything they can.
• Remember to thank your donors!
